Vintage Carnival

Vermont's Signature Boutique Bridal Event: The Vermont Wedding Affair was held at Shelburne Farms on November 6th. No surprise, Krista Washburn and the Vermont Vows staff outdid themselves with an event to remember! The Vintage Carnival themed event was filled with whimsical inspiration around ever corner. Gourmet candied apples, fluffy cotton candy, signature drinks, and a runway fashion show featuring gorgeous couture gowns were just some of the highlights of an evening showcasing Vermont's finest wedding professionals. We had a great evening reconnecting with friends and chatting with brides!

I've been on a color kick lately so when planning our table I chose a brilliant palette of crimson, gold and turquoise and rounded up some antique props from my attic collections including an old picture frame, a stack of books (circa 1800's), and a treasured turn-of-the-century militaria style medal from the Thos. D. Gard Company, Inc. given to me by a dear friend. Combined together with antique brass containers the look is what I would call "Old World Vintage Carnival."

This bridal bouquet features deep burgundy (nearly black) dahlias, red carnations, gold craspedia, crimson ranunculus, chili peppers, and magnolia leaves. We displayed it in a brass candle holder and finished it with gold wire details, a turquoise dupioni ribbon, and my favorite...the antique Thos. D. Gard medal! Photos by Greg Lamoureux
